Rolandsbogen
The former Rolandseck Castle in the Rolandwerth district of Remagen, built in the 12th century to protect the southern border of the Archbishopric of Cologne, fell victim to wars and earthquakes over the centuries.
All that remains is a single picturesque window – the famous Rolandsbogen, a symbol of Rhenish Romanticism.
